Unfortunately it is a fact of life that most people will encounter difficulties with either a service or a product they buy. Whilst these disputes may not involve large sums of money such disputes cause stress and frustration to consumers who wish to pursue often against a large organisation as a matter of principle.

Most consumer disputes can be dealt with in the small claims court (your local County Court) (link to Paul's small claims court track notes) in matters involving sums under £5000.
